Dwarf Foreman in Mining and Dwarves

A nearby-worker booster. Hire after a mixed pair, then spend shards on speed, damage, and aura radius.

Dwarf Foreman

The Dwarf Foreman is the fourth named type in Mining and Dwarves. Playtests show a recruit that boosts nearby workers rather than a third shatter job or a second haul job. Miners and collectors already on the floor hit harder or walk faster while they stay inside an aura. That is a multiplier, not a replacement. If you skip haul and buy a Foreman first, you buff a crew that still cannot feed the central deposit.

This page is the practical Foreman writeup. The opening mix lives in miners and collectors. The rest of the specialist roster, including the Demolition Dwarf and the still-unpublished fifth type, lives in specialist dwarves. Ranking after you have seen the aura in motion is on the dwarf tier list. Spend order after the node appears is in the upgrade-priority tool. Short habits that keep a noisy floor readable sit in tips.

What playtests actually show

A Foreman does not replace a miner or a collector. Playtests show you recruit one so nearby workers move and hit better. The useful picture is a small radius around the Foreman, not a global crew buff. Workers who wander out of the circle stop getting the help. Workers who idle inside it still need a rock to chip or a drop to carry.

Hire order matters more than the name on the node. A Foreman next to one miner and zero collectors speeds a floor that still paints ore on the dirt. Recruit the mixed pair first. Confirm the sink fills during an Auto Click minute. Then open the Foreman node.

The full Steam client lists five dwarf types and eight unique player abilities. Named types on this wiki are Miner, Collector, Demolition Dwarf, and Foreman. The fifth title is unpublished. Do not treat a community nickname as the missing specialist.

Nodes: worker speed, worker damage, aura radius

Foreman-related nodes cluster around three lines:

  • Worker speed — walk time for the crew the aura covers. Speed is still the cheapest way to make an existing mix feel twice as busy.
  • Worker damage — how fast nearby miners chip rock health. Damage without haul still dumps wealth on the floor.
  • Aura radius — how far the boost reaches. A tiny radius means the Foreman has to stand in the middle of the work or the buff is flavour.

Read the tooltip. Some ranks hire the Foreman. Some ranks only enlarge the circle or the buff. Buying a radius node before the Foreman exists is a wasted shard. If the generic worker speed node is cheaper than the Foreman speed rank, buy the generic one first. The aura multiplies a crew that already walks. It is not a reason to skip early speed ranks on upgrade priority.

Hire after a mixed pair, not instead of haul

Practical order: one collector as soon as the node is cheap, one miner if your clicks are not already deleting rocks, worker speed and carry limit until the floor clears between waves, then a Foreman.

Do not skip carry. Aura radius on a slow crew is a nicer screenshot of the same stall. The Foreman does not raise backpack size. Watch one sink bar with Auto Click on and abilities off after you hire him. If that minute is worse than the mixed pair alone, you bought a specialist too early. There is no prestige wipe. Extra copies are not proven. Playtests describe recruiting a Foreman, not stacking five of them.

Foreman versus Demolition Dwarf

Both are later identities. They are not the same job.

Demolition Dwarf is review-named. Launch-week Steam reviews mention the role as a later hire people actually see on the floor. Kit documentation is still thin. Treat demolition as burst or later identity, not as a first-hour vacuum, and not as a substitute for collectors.

Foreman is the nearby-worker booster. He cares about where the rest of the crew stands. Demolition cares about rocks dying. If your bottleneck is haul, neither specialist is the fix. If shatter rate is the bottleneck on a busy floor, demolition might be the later splash and Foreman the standing buff.

Do not buy both on the same shard pile because the names sound cool. Buy the one that matches the slower clock, then watch a rock wave and an orb wave. A Foreman who stands near the sink during orb dumps is doing the job. A Foreman who patrols empty corners is a wasted aura. Rankings sit on the dwarf tier list. The fifth type stays unnamed on specialists.

Spend, clutter, and what this page will not invent

Full-game floors are busier than demo floors. Pies, player-only big rocks, and extra rock varieties already clutter the screen. A Foreman adds another silhouette. Learn Miner versus Collector versus Foreman before you add demolition on top.

This wiki will not invent damage formulas or an always-hire-three rule. Nodes include worker speed, worker damage, and aura radius. Exact percentages belong on your tooltip. The demo never hired a Foreman. June saves only see Miner and Collector until you install the full client (Steam 3987230).

Hire the mixed pair. Raise speed and carry. Then recruit a Foreman to buff the workers you already trust.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

When should I hire a Foreman?

After a miner and a collector exist and the sink still fills during an Auto Click minute. He is a nearby-worker booster, not a haul replacement. Opening mix: miners and collectors.

What do Foreman nodes actually buy?

Playtests cluster them on worker speed, worker damage, and aura radius. Read the tooltip for hire versus buff. Spend order: upgrade-priority tool.

Is the Foreman better than a Demolition Dwarf?

Different jobs. Foreman buffs nearby workers. Demolition Dwarf is a review-named later identity. Neither replaces collectors. Compare roles on the dwarf tier list.

Does the Foreman replace collectors?

No. Aura damage without haul still dumps ore on the floor. Hire haul first, then the Foreman.

Is the Foreman in the June demo?

No. The demo only hires Miner and Collector. Foreman is full-tree content in the 27 August 2026 client. Roster context: specialist dwarves.

What is the fifth dwarf type called?

Unpublished. This wiki names Miner, Collector, Demolition Dwarf, and Foreman. The fifth title waits on Sockhouse. Track that gap on specialists.
