Mining and Dwarves Launch Week
27 August 2026 full release, the 10k-wishlist note, intro pricing, achievements, and Deck verification still waiting on Steam.
Sockhouse Studios shipped Mining and Dwarves on Steam on 27 August 2026. Publishers are Aarimous and Thornity. App ID 3987230. The night before, the studio posted “10K Wishlists & Launch Tomorrow!” — they had just crossed 10,000 wishlists with less than 24 hours on the clock, and they thanked people who wishlisted, played the demo, and showed up for the wait.
This page is that launch window, not a live patch tracker. For the June demo compared with this client, use demo versus full. For whether the game is for you, use the review roundup. For CPU, RAM, and the Deck row, use system requirements. For the first hour in-game, use getting started.
What you actually get on day one
The store pitch is short on purpose. You mine rocks, gather ore, recruit dwarves, fire abilities or idle. The numbered claims: 5 dwarf types (Miner and Collector from the demo, plus three full-tree specialists); 8 unique player abilities (four of those were demo-locked); no prestige; single-player with Steam Cloud and Family Sharing; 22 Steam achievements; built in Godot, shipping on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
The mine is still one floor with a central deposit. Launch does not add a second campaign, a multiplayer drop-in, or a wipe button. If you needed those, this is the wrong game, and the demo already showed that in June.
Price window (no invented USD)
Steam ran an introductory 30% off offer at launch, marked through 10 September 2026. The cash figure is regional; Steam localizes it. This wiki will not invent a US dollar price. When the intro window ends, expect the listing to return to whatever full price your store region uses. The game also sits in several publisher bundles on the store — check Steam rather than a screenshot here. Refunds follow Steam’s usual playtime and two-week rules, which matters if you skip the demo and bounce in the first hour.
Steam Deck: playable claims versus verification
On launch day Sockhouse posted “Steam Deck Compatibility.” The text is blunt: they were still waiting on Steam to verify the game for Deck, and they wanted people to know what to expect if they tried it anyway.
What is on the store, independent of that post: SteamOS + Linux minimums list a Steam Deck APU, 16 GB RAM, and 500 MB storage; additional notes say tested on Steam Deck OLED 1TB; Auto Click exists in-game, which is the practical Deck-friendly click mode (also useful on trackpads). Until Valve’s compatibility badge flips, treat Deck as developer-tested and not finished verifying, not as Verified, Playable, or Unsupported. Hardware detail stays on system requirements. The longer handheld writeup is Steam Deck notes.
Achievements (partial official list)
The store panel shows 22 achievements. Visible names from the official set include Lazy, The Good Stuff, Spare No Expense, Punching Bag, Pie in the Sky, Now that’s a lot of damage!, Performance Enhancer, Yer a Wizard!, Motherlode, Wombo-Combo, Billionaire, Double Shift, and Teamwork.
The store also surfaces Patience is a Virtue on the product page. Other icons are hidden. This wiki will not invent unlock text for hidden achievements. If a name sounds like a dwarf joke (Teamwork, Double Shift, Lazy), wait for the client to pop it instead of grinding a guessed trigger. There is no prestige, so you are not missing a reset-only achievement layer. Play the tree; let Steam Cloud keep the ticks.
Supporter Pack and the review snapshot
A Mining and Dwarves: Supporter Pack shipped the same day as the base game (Steam app 4963210). It is optional downloadable content. You do not need it for the five dwarf types, the eight abilities, Cloud saves, or the 22 achievements on the base app. If you want it, buy it from the DLC row on the store page and read that page for what it contains — this launch note will not invent a loot list.
Launch-week Steam reviews sat around 69–71% positive on about 40 posts (Mixed or Mostly Positive as the count ticked). Praise: juice, Auto Click, dwarves, AFK that still moves. Complaints: one screen forever, a currency slog, clutter, pies and big rocks that do not feel like a new game. Several reviews say play the demo first — if four abilities are not fun, eight will not save the purchase. Quotes: review roundup.
Practical launch-week checklist
Install 3987230, not only demo 4070070. Pick Auto Click on Deck or a trackpad. Hire a collector and a miner before specialists. Use the intro discount only if you already like the demo. Let the 22 achievements pop; skip hidden-unlock guesswork. If Deck is your machine, read Sockhouse’s verification post instead of assuming a badge.
Support is [email protected]. The only launch-window facts still in motion are Deck verification and the 10 September discount. New saves: getting started. June 100% saves: demo versus full.
