Dwarves

Specialist Dwarves in Mining and Dwarves

Three full-game types on top of Miner and Collector. Demolition Dwarf and Foreman are named; the fifth type stays unpublished.

Specialist Dwarves

The full Mining and Dwarves tree hires five dwarf types. The June demo only hires two. Everything past Miner and Collector is launch content, and this page is where those extra roles belong — without padding the roster with invented names.

Confirmed:

  • Miner — damage to rocks (demo and full).
  • Collector — haul to the central deposit (demo and full).
  • Demolition Dwarf — named in launch-week Steam reviews as a later hire people actually see on the floor.
  • Foreman — playtests show a nearby-worker booster. Hire after a mixed pair, not instead of haul. Writeup: Foreman.
  • One unpublished fifth type — unlocked in the full skill tree. Official store copy says five types total. This wiki will not guess the remaining title.

If a guide, video overlay, or Discord nickname uses extra names you cannot find on a skill node, treat them as unofficial. Read the node. The tree is the source, not a fan list.

The demo is not a truncated save of the full tree. Extra dwarf and ability nodes sit behind full-game locks. Incremental YouTuber Sifd 100%ed the demo and still had leftover locks: later abilities and multipliers that only open in the paid client. Those locks are expected. They are the point of the demo wall.

If you are still on the demo, stop looking for a third dwarf. You will not find one. Play miners, collectors, and four abilities, then buy the full game if you want the rest of the roster. The demo versus full page lists the other launch extras (more rocks, pies, player-only big rocks, clutter). This page only covers types.

What we can say about the Demolition Dwarf

Launch-week reviews mention the Demolition Dwarf as part of the crew people enjoy watching. That is enough to list the name. It is not enough to invent a damage formula, a bomb radius, or an “always hire three” rule.

Treat them as a full-tree specialist, not as a replacement for collectors. The sink still needs haul. Rocks still need a damage source. If your floor is already a mess of pickups, another specialist will not magically vacuum. Fix miners and collectors first: mixed pair, carry limit, worker speed.

When the node appears, read what it actually buys. Some specialist nodes hire one worker; some hire a pack; some look like a hire but are a multiplier on workers you already have. Buy the hire if you want another body on the floor. Buy the multiplier if your existing mix already clears waves and you need those bodies to hit harder or walk faster.

Foreman and the unpublished fifth

The Foreman is the fourth confirmed type. Playtests show recruiting one that boosts nearby workers. Nodes cluster on worker speed, worker damage, and aura radius. That is a mid hire after a miner-plus-collector pair, not a haul replacement. Full writeup: Foreman. Rankings that keep him out of early S sit on the dwarf tier list.

Sockhouse’s Steam feature list is “5 dwarf types,” not a named roster. Press material and the itch page do not publish a five-line bestiary. Four names are confirmed: Miner, Collector, Demolition Dwarf, Foreman. Until an official changelog or in-game tooltip lists the last one, describe it as an additional specialist unlocked in the full tree.

What you can still plan for: the fifth type is not in the demo; it costs shards and gold like every other hire, not a free cosmetic from the Supporter Pack; and a specialist that does not touch your bottleneck is a vanity node. If a fifth icon appears, copy the name from the tooltip.

Clutter, spend order, and converting a demo save

Full-game floors are busier than demo floors. Reviews mention more rock varieties, pies that buff when clicked, bigger rocks only the player can mine, and enough on-screen junk that dwarf jobs become hard to read. Specialists add more moving sprites on top of that. Learn Miner versus Collector silhouettes before you add a third job. Keep worker speed funded so extra bodies still reach the sink. Do not skip player mining on the big rocks — specialists do not change the “only you mine these” rule. Pies are a clickable buff, not a dwarf type.

When a specialist node appears: confirm miners are damaging and collectors depositing during an AFK minute, confirm carry limit is not the reason the sink is slow, read hire versus buff twice, buy one rank, and watch a rock wave plus an orb wave. There is no prestige, so a bad purchase stays spent. Only then compare the new body against the dwarf tier list.

Steam Cloud is on for the full game. A demo profile does not grow three new types until you install app 3987230 and open the locks Sifd hit in June. You still meet Miner and Collector first. For the rest of the floor extras, use demo versus full; for a route, use the walkthrough. This page names Miner, Collector, Demolition Dwarf, and Foreman. The fifth type stays unpublished until Sockhouse lists it.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How many dwarf types does the full game add over the demo?

Three. Demo: Miner and Collector. Full game: five types total. Extra named types are the Demolition Dwarf and the Foreman; the fifth type is unpublished. Foreman: Foreman.

Why won't this page name the fifth dwarf?

Sockhouse has not published an official five-name roster. Four names are confirmed. Inventing the last title would contradict the in-game tooltip. Read the skill node when it unlocks.

Is the Demolition Dwarf in the demo?

No. The demo only lists two dwarf types. Demolition Dwarf shows up in full-game reviews after the 27 August 2026 launch.

Should I buy specialists before carry limit?

No. Specialists do not replace haul. Fix the miner and collector mix first, then open a specialist node.

Does the Supporter Pack add a sixth dwarf type?

The Supporter Pack (Steam 4963210) is optional DLC that shipped on launch day. It is not required for the five-type roster or the eight abilities.

Where do I put specialists in a full playthrough?

After the opening mix is stable. Hire a Foreman after that pair, not instead of haul. Route: walkthrough. Ranking: dwarf tier list. June saves: demo versus full.
