Mining and Dwarves Guides Hub
First hour, the rock-to-orb loop, abilities, and the skill tree in one map.
This hub is the map of every Mining and Dwarves guide on the wiki. Sockhouse Studios launched the full Steam build on 27 August 2026 after a free demo on 10 June 2026. The loop stays small and persistent: you break rocks, dwarves haul ore into a central deposit, a filled bar spawns a special orb, you mine that orb for gold and void shards, and the floor starts the next cycle. There is no prestige wipe. If you only open one page today, use the getting started guide. If you already cleared the June demo, read the launch notes so you know what the retail roster actually added.
Guide map
Use this list as a table of contents, not as homework. Each sentence is the job of that page.
The getting started guide is the first-hour checklist: pick Auto Click or Manual Click, hire a miner and a collector, fill the deposit once, and spend the first void shards without spraying the tree. It is written for people who just left the Steam overlay.
How to play is the systems page. It walks rocks to deposit to orb and back, explains why haul speed matters as much as rock damage, and names gold versus void shards so you stop treating every currency as the same pile.
The abilities guide lists all eight player skills in the full game. Super Auto Miner (Q) autoclicks under a hovering cursor. Multi Ore (W) is the orb multiplier people chase. Ore Vacuum, Refresher, Strike the Earth, Big Rock, Reactive Rocks, and Enhancer share the same bar. Pies that spawn in the mine give those skills a short boost when clicked.
The skill tree page is the spend map: worker speed, carry limits, cooldown cuts, recruit nodes, and the later ability unlocks. Because progress never resets, the tree is a hallway, not a prestige puzzle.
Idle versus active compares AFK dwarf labour with hovered ability windows. A crew will keep the floor alive while you are away. Active orb pops and pie clicks still win the graph.
The walkthrough stretches the same loop across early, mid, and late sessions so you know when to add miners, when collectors are the bottleneck, and when a new ability is worth the shard cost.
Controls covers click modes, the Q and W bar, and Steam Deck notes. Super Auto Miner is not a full-screen autoclicker; the cursor still has to sit on a cluster.
Read beginner mistakes for the launch-week traps and how to get void shards for the deposit-to-orb payout. The PC nav shows eight entries; this hub lists the rest.
Rankings and tools
Guides explain the rules. Rankings argue about value. After you understand the loop, open the tier list hub for launch-week takes on dwarves, abilities, and skill paths. Pair that with the upgrade-priority tool so gold and shards go into speed, carry, and cooldown before decorative clutter.
The launch notes page is the demo-to-retail delta: two dwarf types and four abilities in the demo, five types and eight abilities in the full game. Foreman exists as a named specialist alongside Miner, Collector, and Demolition Dwarf; we will not invent the fifth name.
How these guides are written
Every page assumes the 27 August 2026 Steam build, Steam Cloud saves, and a single-player mine. Reviews are mixed. Some players call the juice cozy and the haul satisfying. Others bounce off a linear grind, a busy screen, and a skill tree that does not branch into true alternate wins. These guides side with the second group when the first group is selling a fantasy. If a rock laser looks spectacular and barely moves the deposit bar, we will say so.
Read in any order. The only hard rule is mechanical: miners have to break rocks and collectors have to feed the sink, or the orb never appears. Once that loop is stable, abilities and tree nodes are multipliers, not a different game.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Where should a new player start?
Open the getting started guide, then how to play once the first deposit fills. The walkthrough takes over after you hire a mixed crew.
I played the June demo. Which pages still matter?
Read the launch notes for the demo-to-full delta, then the abilities guide. Retail has five dwarf types and eight abilities; the demo only showed Miner, Collector, and four skills.
Does Mining and Dwarves have prestige?
No. Progression is persistent. That is why the skill tree page talks in paths instead of reset timing, and why a bad early cluster only costs time.
Can I idle the whole game?
Dwarves will keep mining and hauling while you are away, but hovered abilities and orb pops are faster. Compare both styles in idle versus active.
Where are Q, W, and the rest of the hotbar explained?
I want ranks, not tutorials. Where do I go?
Use the tier list hub and the upgrade-priority tool. This hub stays on how the systems work.
